I wish I didn't have to do this site...
...but the sad fact is that the social and economic situation in the Romania are so bad that people are suffering, and as far there are children involved. I feel that it is - as a human being - my duty to act...

FOOD SECURITY - AHU strives to reduce starvation and hunger - not only by meeting immediate needs; but also by developing programs to reduce the problem and prevent the need from arising again. Using a model of sustainable agriculture, AHU promotes agricultural methods that are environmentally no degrading, technically appropriate, economically viable, socially just, and culturally appropriate.
PRIMARY HEALTH - AHU works to provide prevention education and raise community awareness of local health problems such as excess fertility, AIDS and maternal mortality. Through AHU's Child Survival and Mother/Child Health programs, it aims to protect infants and mothers from death and disease, which enables children to achieve optimum physical, mental, emotional and social development. In addition, AHU operates street children programs and classes for mothers to learn the importance of family planning, breastfeeding, immunizations, oral rehydration therapy, and nutrition.
DISASTER RESPONSE AND PREPAREDNESS - Whether the disaster is natural or human-made, around the globe, AHU is there with food, medical care, water and emergency supplies. Even after the media frenzy has dissipated, AHU remains to assist in the task of rebuilding lives and hope through rehabilitation and development.
BASIC EDUCATION - Education is key to breaking the poverty cycle. However, worldwide, many children are denied an education. AHU responds by building primary schools and initiating adult literacy and innumeracy programs as well as agriculture and vocational training. This education teaches marketable skills which increase employment opportunities and personal economic independence.
